公共卫生关系到人们的健康，社区的健康，以及整个世界的健康。通过加入公共卫生事业并致力于此，你可以为人类的健康做出显著的贡献。公共卫生是我们社会如何实现和维持最大化人民健康和福祉的关键。肥胖和营养、污染、热浪、烟草使用、传染病和慢性病的控制以及伤害预防只是当代公共卫生领域的少数几个重要问题。鉴于这些问题对现有和未来人口的短期和长期影响，我们迫切需要注意这些问题。公共卫生专业人员的责任是全面了解社区的公共卫生，从不同人群的过去历史从学习归纳，培养自己的洞察力，以预见日常卫生中的潜在挑战。他们的任务是战略性地规划卫生服务，并适当管理，控制，预防传染病，以及决定哪些政策最有利于为子孙后代促进更健康的生活。
